The Chapel Quotes
“What picture is your marriage generating? What picture does it portray to the world? When people look at you, when they see your relationship and the way you interact, what picture are you generating to the world? Many times those pictures do not match reality. God created marriage, that from the beginning of time, to always paint a picture of Christ and the Church. God’s design for marriage is that a husband and wife relationship paint a picture of the relationship between Christ and the Church.”
“Statistics are showing that around 33% of Christians have experienced a divorce, which means we are losing our joy in what we thought would bring us so much joy. More than any other time in American history there are 34% of adults who are single. So many aspects of the Christ-Church relationship should guide us and our spouses in the way that we should live our lives to uphold integrity. Submission is not the same word as obedience. Obedience means coming to the Holy Spirit that lives inside of us, to guide and empower us to do what we’re not physically capable of in our own strength. The world needs more husbands who lead. The downfall of all society began with a passive man doing nothing as Eve was tempted.”

Devotion 05/04/2025
Our Devotion, “Weak for the Weak” is by Matt Maine, a professional writing major at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, and a freelance writer for Church Libraries and WBCL radio.
What makes a movie great? The soundtrack? The characters? The dialogue or plot? Certainly, all of these contribute greatly, but the thing that hits home the most is how relatable the film is. If we don’t like the plot or identify with the characters, the movie won’t have much impact. One reason romantic comedies are popular is because we all greatly enjoy love and laughter.
A great person, like a great movie, is someone we can relate to. If we can relate well to a person, we can trust and confide in him or her.
In 1 Corinthians 9:22, Paul said, “To the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” He knew that the best way to save unbelievers was to relate to them. Paul did not indulge in their sins, but he did talk about their work, share meals with them, and extend genuine friendship to them.
Stepping out of our comfort zones can be frightening, but learning how to relate to people goes a long way in winning them to the cause of Christ. Try it today. Relate to other people so that they can relate to the Lord.

WEDDING BELL BLUES
The Piper Cove Chronicles
by Linda Windsor
Avon Inspire, 978-0-06-117137-6, PB, 274 pages, $12.99
Of the four female friends who grew up at Piper Cove, Alex Butler is the one with a knack for design and control. That’s why she’s been put in charge of planning her younger sister’s wedding. But control is what Alex may lose when her ex-husband Josh turns up as the best man! He says he’s changed his ways, but has he? And even if he has, could Alex ever trust her heart to love him again? In the first of the Piper Cove series,
Linda Windsor takes readers down a path of painful memories and fresh beginnings. The novel is chocked full of characters, each with his or her own personality and amusing or intriguing past. And with all those interesting people, it can be difficult to follow the plot from time to time. Some of the romantic descriptions could be considered borderline “cutesy,” as well. The theme of forgiveness in Wedding Bell Blues almost shines through the physicality but won’t be worth the risk to many. Discretion should probably be used when reading or recommending this book.
